Stamford, CT – March 6, 2017 – The Loft Artists Association presents an enchanting exhibition of artwork by its members, inspired by the emotions elicited by the lyrics of their selected all time favorite songs.
An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, June 16 from 6 to 8 pm. There will also be a special Gallery Naming ceremony at 7 pm honoring Bob and Pat Phillips for their dedication and support of the Loft Artists Association.
Pablo Picasso stated that artists find inspiration “from all over the place, from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web.” Agreeing that they indeed find their inspiration just about anywhere and everywhere, show chair Paul Larson adds “Fueled by melody, harmony, and beat, a rich source of artistic inspiration may be found in the lyrics of the popular music of our time. This exhibition is a collection of artwork by our members that find music, their lyrics, and the vibrant visual images they can evoke as their source.”
Regular gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 to 4:30 pm at 575 Pacific Street, Stamford, CT. There is free parking, and handicapped access is available by appointment. For directions and more information visit loftartists.com or call 203 247 2070.
Now in its 39th year the Loft Artists Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to building connections within Fairfield County’s visual art community and introducing the general public to artists and their work. Their grassroots events attract thousands of visitors throughout the tri-state area and have been recognized by funding agencies, including the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, corporate and private sponsors, the City of Stamford and by visitors who return year after year.
