7th Annual Juried Show
Multiplicity
Psyche, Culture and Change in 2020
Jurors: Danielle Ogden, kristin peterson edwards
When making our selections for Multiplicity: Psyche, Culture and Change in 2020, it was important for us to see how the artists reacted to our prospectus and how their recent work has been influenced by the current climate of 2020 - COVID-19, Black Lives Matter, and the political division within our country. While some of our choices do not conspicuously address the issues related to this tumultuous year, we found the artists’ statements and creative responses to be relevant. In addition to acknowledging the inherent beauty of each piece we selected, we also considered the method, medium and uniqueness.
Despite being an online exhibition, we juried this show from a curatorial perspective and envisioned the works being hung together in the gallery space. Though not typical, we also felt inclined to include multiple works by several of the artists. In making these choices, we believed that these pieces compliment each other beautifully.
Congratulations to all of the accepted artists and thank you to all who submitted entries! It was a pleasure for us to jury and curate this exhibition.
