Rhythm and Blues

The Loft Artists Association is pleased to announce a new member exhibit titled, “Rhythm and Blues” from January 7 through February 12, 2023 with an Opening Reception on Saturday, January 7, from 4-6 p.m.

Imagine the art of being in a blue funk, beautiful scenery with blue skies, blue waterscapes, Picasso’s Blue Period, B.B. King and Blues Music, Circadian rhythm, tidal rhythm, cardiac rhythm, rhythm in music, the rhythm in pattern…and in poetry…

“Rhythm and Blues is a unique opportunity for our artists to express themselves around these intriguing concepts” Executive Director, Mark Macrides stated. “The gallery will be filled with work that evokes the literal, ethereal and spiritual interpretation of rhythm and the blues.” This theme has allowed our artists to explore and create in photography, painting, sculpture, and mixed media all grounded in similar ideas. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase the creativity and versatility of the Loft Artists as we present our first exhibit of the New Year.
